Who we are

AAE-ESIT is a non-profit association with more than 900 professional members working in the fields of translation and interpreting, and representing more than 40 language pairs, including French Sign Language.

All members hold a three-year Master’s Degree awarded by the École Supérieure d’Interprètes et de Traducteurs (ESIT, Graduate School of Translation and Interpreting, Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle-Paris III), an institution renowned worldwide for the quality of its instruction.

AAE-ESIT members include both freelancers and employees. The Association provides clients and employers with free referrals to its members.

AAE-ESIT fosters communication and exchanges among ESIT graduates, and with companies and other translation and interpreting professionals, through its quarterly newsletter, its online directory and forums, and the various events it organizes.

AAE-ESIT, together with other professional associations, promotes the study of the translation and interpreting professions and their recognition by the general public.
